Charlie and Ted were neighbors and friends but Ted loved to play
practical jokes on people.  Charlie had a new roof put on his house and,
when the contractor finished, he left a few shingles lying on the
ground.  After dark, Ted sneaked over and picked up some of them.
Several months later a terrific windstorm occurred on a day when
Charlie and his family were shopping at the mall.  While they were gone,
Ted dropped those shingles on the ground around Charlie's house.  When
he got home, Charlie frantically circled his house trying to figure out
where they had come from.  When he got out a ladder and climbed up on
his roof, Ted's wife entered the room and found him watching Charlie
with tears of laughter running down his cheeks.
