Subject: "When In Rome..."

Attendance is down at Roman gladiator exhibitions. Caesar is sick of this and
bored as well so he requests that the events coordinator come up with a new
diversion to renew interest and entertain royalty and the citizens of Rome.
In a creative burst the fellow devises the construction of three large doors
at one end of the Colosseum and asks for a volunteer from the gladiator pool
to test the new game. One stalwart rises to the occasion and is told the
following: behind one door is a five gallon vessel of wine, behind another is
a lion with an abscessed tooth, and behind the other is the most insatiable
courtesan in the Empire.

The events coordinator tells the volunteer he must select a door at random and
satisfy the prostitute, extract the lion s bad tooth, and drink the wine to
the dregs without spilling a drop. Gamely the gladiator acknowledges his
acceptance of the challenge and selects a door. It is the vessel and the man
chugs the contents with nary a drip on his robe. Eagerly he selects another
door that quickly closes behind him so that he can wrestle the lion to the
ground in close quarters, the only concession during his ordeal. The sounds
of an immense struggle ensue until finally all is quiet, including the vast
and expectant crowd. Slowly the door is drawn open, the man staggers out and
bellows, NOW, WHERE S THAT WHORE WITH THE BAD TOOTH?
